It's July. NOW what?!

Take a look at July's "Project of the Month"! It's a feather & fan lace baby blanket. We're making this light-weight blanket in knit or crochet. We have kits available w/Cascade Temtation baby yarn for $16.50 plus tax. Yep! That's all it cost because the yarn in on sale for $1.65/skein. :-) OR! You can select another yarn of your choice for this beautiful blankie.

Join us for Monday nights Hooks & Needles Club and join in on the fun, peace & tranquility of knitting and crocheting. We meet from 6-8pm right here at Yorkshire Yarns.

SOMETHING NEW!
We're adding a book club to our Monday night group. The book of the month for July is "The Shop on Blossom Street" by local author, Debbie Macomber. "Officially", we'll begin reading the book July 2nd. We'll discuss/review the book on Monday, July 30th during our usually Hooks & Needles meeting time.

Please know you are NOT required to participate in either the project nor book of the month events. If you want, come and participate w/an original project. And, for goodness sake, show it off!

Thank you :-)

Thank you to all who came out to join us for our Grandest Opening Celebration. We had a ball!

The shop is seeing some regular faces and daily meeting new knitters & crocheters as well. The grand opening weekend brought folks out in masses. We had shoppers from Bremerton to Marysville!

Well, I suppose you're wondering if Al the Alpaca showed up. Not only did he show-up but he brought a buddy with him! Yep. We had 2 alpaca chillin' on the grassy knoll on the east side of the shop.

It was wild. I was working in the shop when, all of a sudden, I heard children squealing, hooting, hollering and laughing. I looked outside to see our 2 furry friends crossing the parking lot with Eva from Fair Meadows Farm of Auburn, WA. Man, were they CUTE!

Gingerly, I approached our furry buddies to find they didn't much appreciate hands. Eva instructed me to touch noses with them instead. I did. It was successful...for a second. Apparently, Al didn't much appreciate my perfume and laid a big sneezer right in my face. Yep. For the remainder of the day I had Al ick mixed with my women's Armani fragrance. All I could do was crack-up!

Linda Wells joined us on Saturday and spun for several hours. It was simply beautiful. Linda is a master at her craft and even better with people as she explained the art of spinning. As interest grows we hope to have Linda back to teach classes.

To all the folks who signed-up for our email news letter, again, thank you. We'll update you on upcoming events & sales on a regular basis. If you've not sign-up for our list you're invited to do so at www.yorkshireyarns.com and join-in on all the buzz and excitement at Yorkshire Yarns.

Keep an eye on this blog for more information about YY!

God bless~~

DURING OUR GRAND OPENING TAKE 15 TO 25% OFF SELECTED ITEMS!!

UPDATE ON THE GREATEST GRAND OPENING THIS SIDE OF PORTLAND AVE, JUNE 14-16!

We've got a spinner coming to demonstrate! Waaaaaait a minute! Hold on! No...no...no. I'm not talking about one of the guys from the great R&B performing group of the 70's. tsk...tsk...tsk...you're so silly.

Here's the REAL deal. Wool spinner, Linda Wells of Gig Harbor, has been spinning for over 30 years and is truly a master at her craft. She is scheduled to show her incredible talent from 10-noon on Saturday, June 16th.

AND it looks like Alvin the alpaca may stop by as well. (I've changed his name to protect his true identity). Anyway, Alvin usually travels for "drive-by matings" only but will make an exception for the cause this time.

.....BTW, I'm not kidding. And yes. I CRACKED-UP when I read about his "services". Apparently, he knows he's got it goin' on with the local lady alpacas. You GO, Al. :-)

Trust me, there's more to this story and finished yarn products. Stay tuned. This is gonna be good.

To be continued.
